4 Months Old!!!

Happy Birthday little man, you've certainly grown a lot this past month! With the craziness that goes along with the holidays this month seemed to go by even faster than the others.. whew! Tyler's newest tricks are grabbing for toys and putting anything he gets a hold of into his mouth, blowing bubbles, squealing in a high pitch voice, laughing and giggling, chewing on his thumb, holding himself up on his elbows during tummy time, kicking like a crazy man, watching people from across the room and accidentally rolling over from tummy to back! He loves to be carried around in the Baby Bjorn (especially by his Daddy!) so he can take it all in, but you better not stop moving or you're going to hear about it! He's really into the mirror in his pack and play and loves to play with his kick toy ...I'm surprised we don't have bruises on those tiny fat feet, the boy means business! He still loves peek-a-boo, getting smothered in kisses from Mommy and Daddy and loves to have conversations on his changing table. He's definitely a happy boy and growing like a weed... we'll have official stats after Ty's 4 month check-up next week!

He loves his football, but gets frustrated since it's hard to get into his mouth!

Bath time is one of Tyler's favorite times of the day (and Mom and Dad's too, we get so many cute pictures at tub time)! It's certainly changed quite a bit since he was an itty bitty, now we all get drenched in the process!

He's definitely mastered the skill of wrestling with and eating his buddies!

Ho ho ho!!!

Tyler had a great first Christmas ... the celebration lasted for days!!! On Christmas Eve Grammy and Pop-Pop came over for dinner, Christmas day was spent celebrating at Grammy's house with the whole Lee Family and then Saturday was spent at our house celebrating with the Hoffmann Family. We topped it all off with a 65 degree night at the Zoo lights, I think everyone had fun and just enjoyed being outside! Tyler is turning into quite the social little man and had a great time watching everyone and taking it all in! I can definitely see how the holidays are a bit overstimulating to little ones - we're still trying to get back on track with our naps, he refuses to go down without a lengthy fight the past two days!!!
Our little monkey's first Christmas!

Tyler's jumperoo from Santa - his little feet don't touch the floor yet, poor guy!!!

Santa left lots of treats in Ty's stocking! He actually did take out each toy on his own (probably by accident, but we were all impressed)!
I love how big his stocking is compared to him!

The boys with their new animals, thanks Grammy and Pop-Pop!

Too funny!

I had to share some pictures of Tyler in the Bumbo for the first time, the look on his face was priceless! His daddy and I couldn't stop laughing at him!

Day #1
What exactly are you doing to me?

Much happier playing with his buddy Monkey after being rescued from the Bumbo!

Day #2
Oh this thing again???

Still a little bit uncertain...

Oh, well if I can still get my hands in my mouth, maybe it's not so bad!

Fully adjusted!

Growing Up!!!

Tyler has become quite the fun little man lately. He's certainly grown into a curious, happy and interactive baby over just a short couple of weeks! Just last week he realized he can grab toys - he's still trying to get those two hands to work together just right, but he manages to get most things up to his mouth! It's amazing, but you can actually see the progress he makes on this daily! He's also no longer an absolute hater of tummy time, we're strong enough to hold that big old head up and look around and take it all in - but eventually he does lay down to suck on that hand for awhile and give himself a rest!

Getting big and moving around doesn't come easy though...

Notice the red mark on his forehead - a self inflicted rattle to the head.

Self inflicted scratch under the nose - those little finger nails are like razor blades!

He even manages to stab himself in the back of his leg with those tiny toe nails!

I'm telling you - he's one active boy!!!

The biggest hazard of all though is the bald spot on the back of his little head where all the hair has been rubbed away (poor baby, the camera flash makes it look worse than it actually is)! Notice the longer hair at the bottom... his father proudly refers to this as Tyler's "Skullet"!

Three Month Photo Shoot...

Poor Tyler and Will were the subjects of an amateur photo session that their mother's thought was a great idea last week!!! We (Anne & I) really enjoyed dressing up our little men to capture Will's 8 month pictures and Tyler's 3 month photos... I think the boys probably had a different perspective on the entire process based on the fussing that took place! But I must say, Anne captured some great shots of the boys, but when you're subjects are just so stinkin' cute it's not too hard! I think we were lucky their father's were both at work (Brad called from work while we were in the middle of these and warned me that I better not be using any fruit or vegetables, for those of you that love The Office as much as we do, you'll understand!!!) . . .

O Christmas Tree...

The long holiday weekend was wonderful around our house! It started with Brad taking Wednesday off and spending the day with Tyler and I. We decided in order to beat the crowds we'd go get our Christmas tree the day before Thanksgiving this year. Our little man has been battling his first stuffy nose and cough for about a week now, so instead of hauling him out in the cold to the tree farm (boo... we'll miss you Lynch family!) we opted to go down the road to a large greenhouse and make our selection. It was a relatively quick trip and Tyler did very well picking out his first tree! I'm also happy to report that so far he appears to have no allergies related to the tree in the house like his momma did when she was a little girl! (The memories of what was a fully decorated tree thrown out onto the back patio with gingerbread men head's dangling off of it with their bodies on the ground from frost has scarred me for life!) Hopefully Tyler won't have to experience that! I thought these pictures of Ty in the car with his first tree were precious... he's still chewing on that hand by the way. . . I can't wait to see how much he likes it all decorated and lit up!

Tyler's 3 Month's Old!

Happy three month Birthday buddy!!! Wow how the little man has changed over three short months, I swear just this past week the boy has added inches to his length - happens so quickly! Tyler's little personality is certainly starting to emerge, he loves to play, smile and "talk", but when he's hungry or ready to go to sleep look out, he'll certainly let you know and there's nothing you can do to distract the boy! Over the past month he's mastered smiling, cooing, eating his fists and holding up that heavy head. Tyler has also learned the outside world has much to be discovered- he loves being carried around facing forward so he can take it all in! His favorite things right now are talking with mom and dad on his changing table, watching any mobile he can get his eyes on, playing peek-a-boo with daddy and jumping like a frog on anyone lap that's willing to lift him up over and over again. Things we're getting better at but still working on are batting at objects and actually making contact with them and holding onto a toy and realizing it's in his hand. Hopefully within the next month we'll be able to report he can push him self up on his arms while on his tummy, roll over and (fingers crossed) sleep through the night! Unofficial stats taken by mom and dad are 24 inches long (up from 23 a month ago) and 14 pounds (up from 11 lbs, 7 ounces a month ago) - now that's some serious growing!

My First Thanksgiving!

We certainly have many things to be thankful for this year with our new little bundle in our lives! Tyler made his first car trip to Grandma and Grandpa Hoffmann's house for Thanksgiving this week. He certainly had a great time visiting with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Tim and the Ellinger's - he was so worn out we got some great naps in on Friday! I was a little worried about the 1 hour, 45 minute drive with the little man - but he did just fine. On the way there he fussed for 10 minutes or so before falling asleep for most of the trip and then we had to hold off some tears with a cold bottle for the last 20 minutes of the trip, but on the way back we hardly heard a peep out of him - he was mesmerized by a portable mobile I had purchased specifically for this trip... best $16 I've ever spent!!! The Tiny Love musical mobile comes highly recommended by this Momma!!! Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Happy little turkey!

There's a little smile...

Can't get enough of that hand...

Some QT with Uncle Tim.

Best $16 ever spent!!!
