Tyler's 3 Month's Old!

Happy three month Birthday buddy!!! Wow how the little man has changed over three short months, I swear just this past week the boy has added inches to his length - happens so quickly! Tyler's little personality is certainly starting to emerge, he loves to play, smile and "talk", but when he's hungry or ready to go to sleep look out, he'll certainly let you know and there's nothing you can do to distract the boy! Over the past month he's mastered smiling, cooing, eating his fists and holding up that heavy head. Tyler has also learned the outside world has much to be discovered- he loves being carried around facing forward so he can take it all in! His favorite things right now are talking with mom and dad on his changing table, watching any mobile he can get his eyes on, playing peek-a-boo with daddy and jumping like a frog on anyone lap that's willing to lift him up over and over again. Things we're getting better at but still working on are batting at objects and actually making contact with them and holding onto a toy and realizing it's in his hand. Hopefully within the next month we'll be able to report he can push him self up on his arms while on his tummy, roll over and (fingers crossed) sleep through the night! Unofficial stats taken by mom and dad are 24 inches long (up from 23 a month ago) and 14 pounds (up from 11 lbs, 7 ounces a month ago) - now that's some serious growing!

My First Thanksgiving!

We certainly have many things to be thankful for this year with our new little bundle in our lives! Tyler made his first car trip to Grandma and Grandpa Hoffmann's house for Thanksgiving this week. He certainly had a great time visiting with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Tim and the Ellinger's - he was so worn out we got some great naps in on Friday! I was a little worried about the 1 hour, 45 minute drive with the little man - but he did just fine. On the way there he fussed for 10 minutes or so before falling asleep for most of the trip and then we had to hold off some tears with a cold bottle for the last 20 minutes of the trip, but on the way back we hardly heard a peep out of him - he was mesmerized by a portable mobile I had purchased specifically for this trip... best $16 I've ever spent!!! The Tiny Love musical mobile comes highly recommended by this Momma!!! Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Hands??!!

Over the past week or so Tyler has discovered his hands! This isn't to say that he has any control over them other than getting them up to his mouth, but boy does he love to suck on them (often times this results in a gag!). In fact, mostly the left fist makes it's way into that toothless mouth of his, wonder if he's going to be a lefty? Then I'll for sure have to question who's blue eyed, left handed baby this is!!!

I think I'm probably the only Momma who HOPES her son develops a thumb sucking habit and fast, since the pacifier never went over well with the little man, I'm still the ONLY thing that will sooth him and put him to sleep these days... sigh! Regardless, the little man is still bundled up as tight as a burrito when he sleeps since he still has a tendency to whack himself a good one to the face and wake himself up and we certainly can't have that around here since he sleeps so little to begin with!! So at this point we're hoping for more control over those hands and arms of his soon so we can soon stop the swaddeling at night and leave that thumb free for sucking!!!

Hangin' with the Cousins

Tyler recently spent some QT with his cousins, Ali and Will. I think it was the first time the two little ones were together, awake, happy and not eating for once! Will's way of bonding with little Ty was too funny, he'd scoot over to his bouncy seat and chew on the side of it while checking out Tyler!!! We keep joking that one of these days Will might eat Tyler, he certainly seems like he's on his way! And big cousin Al, got some priceless gummy grins from the little man! Awwwww!

Too BIG!!!

I can't believe it, but I think it's official that Tyler's starting to outgrow some of his clothes! My sweet pea it just getting too long for some of my favorite little outfits of his... but I guess I knew the time would come! Just looking at this pictures makes me feel bad, this poor kid's got to have a diaper wedgie... it sure didn't seem to affect him during playtime this morning though!!!

First trip to the Zoo!

My little monkey had his first trip to the Zoo this week! So maybe it was a little selfish on Mommy's part, but we wanted to take advantage of these last few nice days of fall so we went along with Aunt Anne and Cousin Will. Tyler did pretty well, he wanted to stop and eat a few times along the way and was definitely ready for a nap by the time we left (does anyone else have a kid who won't go to sleep in their stroller or am I the only one?!)! We checked out some monkeys, had our picture taken with Will and the baby elephant and looked at all those fish in the aquarium. I thought for sure the aquarium would be his favorite considering he loves the one in his crib... but I think the real thing was a bit too much for him to take in!!!

My First Girlfriend!

Our friends Nate and Allison came into town with their little Reagan in tow this past weekend. (They drove non-stop from New Hampshire to Columbus, that's quite the trek, I was extremely impressed, I sure can't imagine doing it with Mr. T anytime soon!!!) Reagan's only a few weeks older than Tyler and is the most precious little thing - those blue eyes are incredible and she sure is a little flirt with that adorable smile! Although it was a quick visit we're so glad we got to meet you Reagan and we enjoyed catching up with your Mom & Dad too, hopefully it won't be too long until we see you all again!!!

So I guess you can say Tyler has officially met his first girlfriend... but as you can see from the photos, he still needs some tips on how to talk to the ladies!









I think he's looking to dad for some guidance here!!!
