BOO!

Brad just didn't think it seemed right to dress up his "boy" and humiliate him in a Halloween costume and much to my own surprise I actually respected his wishes!!! So the little man doesn't have a costume per say, but I sure had fun playing dress up with a few Halloween outfits we have.. hey I have to take advantage before he's old enough to protest! As you can see I was able to pull off a little ghost ensemble for a few pictures!

Here's my grouchy little ghost!

Mr. Fussy had a little fever from those immunizations yesterday!

Happy Little Punkin'

See he does actually smile -today we were full of them for momma - FINALLY!!!
Thanks for the cookie Grandma - I even tried to eat it!

Tyler and his very first pumpkin
I obviously wasn't successful at convincing Brad to carve it with a "T"!

Tyler the Grouch

So today was the inevitable 2 month check-up for the little man... the beginning of the dreaded immunizations, so sad (but I must remember it's in his best interest)!!!

As for the stats we have a healthy little boy that's growing just as he should:
Weight: 11 pounds, 7 ounces - 45th percentile
Height: 23 inches - 50th percentile

From Mommy's perspective our little buddy did great during the doctors visit... although he did decide to take a little tinkle on the doctor, nurse and Daddy - but I'm sure this wasn't the first time any of them had experienced such a thing!!! I personally think it was just his way at getting back at them for the shots he knew were coming his way, I was proud :) He got 3 shots and boy did they take his breath away... I literally watched my son turn slightly blue before he actually let out the dreaded scream, but he survived and was in a state of shock for about an hour afterwards. The rest of the day we've been a little grouchy and want to be held and fed a lot (now that I think about it, I guess this isn't much different than any other day!), but overall we made it through!!!

Happy 2 Month Birthday Tyler!

Yesterday Tyler turned 2 months old! Our little man has definitely changed quite a bit over the last month, to begin with he's really starting to look like a baby with some chubby little cheeks, no longer that tiny newborn he was only a short month or so ago! He's also really starting to check out his surroundings, in fact I think that with all there is now to discover we're becoming even less of a sleeper than we already were!!! Lately he's really enjoyed looking at his baby mirror and talking to his mobile in his pack n' play. With so much to explore he's getting really good at holding that head up lately too - he doesn't want to miss out on a thing! Tyler's cries have also started to differentiate themselves, which has helped his parents tremendously in learning that most of his protests are just fussing, not true "cries"!!! Every once in awhile he's also got a sweet little squeal or coo that comes out too - I love those and can't wait for more! I can also report he does smile, unfortunately he does this for everyone and everything but his mom - I can't quite figure this one out, but I rarely get one and if I do it's still impossible to get a repeat in the same sitting!!! Here's some sweet pictures we captured of our little 2 month old chillin' in his bath tub (another one of his favorite activities) getting ready for his first family pictures, stay tuned for some of those later this week!!

TWH x 2

Uncle Tim came to visit this past weekend and spend some time with Tyler. Well, he came bearing gifts (which isn't unusual.. thanks as always!), this time it was matching t-shirts with both Tim and Tyler's initials on them... TWH! So stinkin' cute!!! For those of you that don't know my brother-in-law, for months on end while I was pregnant he tried to convince us to name the baby after him, in fact my mother-in-law had to remind him that it was a baby being named, not a stadium you can buy naming rights too (although I did contemplate this)!!! Regardless, out of complete luck on Tim's part, little Tyler did end up with at least the same initials... needless to say he's one proud Uncle to share them with the little man!

Baby it's cold outside... and inside too!

We've only been in our house for a little over a year now and when we bought it we were fully aware the furnace was 27 years old, but it worked just fine last winter. Well upon a routine inspection earlier last week our now 28 year furnace was "condemned" - I had no idea they even used this term with furnaces, but they sure do! So we were without heat for 3 days last week, most of which were warm enough outside, but that last night and day sure got chilly around here. Tyler and I were all bundled up while the guys were working to install our new one! Ah the trials of home ownership!!! See Tyler all bundled up in his cozy fleece sweats... such a cutie!

"Oh boy..."

I love this picture because I'm convinced it sums up what Tyler thinks of his mom and dad on a daily basis! Like I said, I'll do anything to provoke a smile out of this baby...

Wiggle Worm

Ever since last Thursday when Tyler turned 6 weeks, I've been dying to see that first baby smile that's actually meant for Mommy or Daddy - instead of that little bubble tickling his tummy. So I spend any awake alert time with my little buddy chatting, singing, acting like a complete crazy woman trying to get him to budge. Well, I can't say I've gotten that smile yet (and darn those books that always remind me to count from his due date (+2 weeks) - no thanks!), but I certainly have gotten much interaction in the way of a wiggly little man. The other morning he looked so darn cute when he woke up I just wanted a few pictures - but here's what I got instead! I think it's time that I invest in a new camera so I can capture my squirmy little man better!

Speaking of wiggling, not only does Tyler do this when he's playing and happy, but he's also recently taken up grunting and squirming while he's sleeping. Not really sure what it's all about, poor kid's definitely received his share of Mylicon over the past couple weeks to see if it'd help (that cherry flavor sure is a good distraction technique!), but regardless he keeps his eyes closed and seems to stay asleep through it all so we don't dare pick him up! Now if Brad and I could just manage to sleep through it as well.... If anyone else's child went through this, please feel free to let me know... well actually only let me know if this too shall pass!!!

Our little Pumpkin!

Tyler had his first visit to the pumpkin patch this past weekend! Okay... so obviously it was more for his parents and grandparents than for him, but we had to take advantage of the beautiful fall day and the photo opps it presented! Grandma and Grandpa Hoffmann were in town so they joined us and even Grammy and Pop-pop came out to snap a few photos of the little guy! I wanted very badly to prop him up next to some pumpkins, but I figured that was cruel... we'll save that for next year! We did get some decent pictures of the three of us though, I am constantly taking pictures of the little man, but we don't have any of the entire family together - so this will have to satisfy me until we get professional pictures done in a few weeks! Overall it was a great day at the farm, I underestimated how busy they would be, but in the end Tyler ended up with his very first pumpkin... now if I can just convince Brad to carve it for him on Halloween!
