It's official, Tyler had his appointment today with the Ophthalmologist and was diagnosed with Strabismus just like we had suspected. He was a superstar at the appointment today and actually once the patch was on he surprised us all by leaving it alone after a brief protest, let's hope it continues that way! I was very impressed, he played, got around and picked things up as usual while using his left eye today - so that's a good sign that it may not be as weak as I was thinking it could be! Great news is little man really doesn't seem phased by it... he's such a good boy!
We're staring with 8 weeks of patching 4 hours a day and then we'll see if his vision in his left eye has improved at all. Once the doc is comfortable it's improved enough it's then on to surgery for him to actually fix it... I can handle the patch no problem (in fact the prints on these things are downright cute!), but the thought of putting my baby under makes my stomach queasy... but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!
See... happy as usual!!!
